This diversified field trip favors studies in archaeology, Native American culture and history, geology and American / Georgia history.

The Booth Cowboy Museum in Cartersville offers students an interesting and entertaining look at the role played by local “agricultural transportation engineers” in early American History.

At New Echota and the Etowah Indian Mounds (very limited dates and times), students will learn about early Native American History through interpretive programs led by park rangers. 

Chickamauga National Battlefield is an excellent background for gaining an understanding of the life and trials of a typical Civil War soldier.

The staff at the Tellus Science Museum featuring the Weinman Mineral Exhibits will provide students with myriad examples of the types of rocks and minerals found in the area, an understanding of how geologists study their finds and the common usage of many of these materials in products we use in our homes, schools and businesses.

Vulcan Materials Company in Kennesaw offers students a close investigation of a modern mining operation. A company representative will take students into the quarry and discuss the importance of this industry to our everyday lives.

The Funk Heritage Museum, on the campus of Reinhardt University is an excellent venue for students studying North Georgia history. Their vast collection of early American tools is complimented by exhibits and a video presentation describing Native American cultures that have inhabited the North Georgia area.
